After a weak report on the manufacturing sector earlier this week, the latest survey of the services sector provides more reassuring news about the Irish economy.

AIB’s Services PMI recorded 56.9 in June, down only marginally from 57 in May but still well above the 50 mark that indicates growth.

The increase in activity was led by a sharp rise in new business, with export orders rising at the fastest pace in three months. The quickest growth in activity came inthe financial services sector.
