Examiner sale gets over the line

The Irish Times has agreed to buy the Irish Examiner and all of Landmark Media's other interests.

The deal, which has been expected for months, is subject to several conditions including regulatory approval from The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and The Environment and The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. This process means it could take between four and six months for the acquisition to be finalised.
