Eirgrid seeks €600 million to connect Irish and French electricity systems

Eirgrid has applied for up to €600 million in funding from the European Union to connect the French and Irish electricity systems. The application was made by Eigrid and its French counterpart Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) for the Celtic Interconnector, which received clearance from Irish and French regulators in April.
