Eir shareholders approached by investor
Shareholders in Eir, the country’s biggest telecoms operator, have received an approach by an investor looking to buy a stake in the company.
Takeover speculation about the Eir has been swirling in recent weeks, with one report suggesting a French firm is looking to buy the business.
Eir is owned by a group of international funds, including Anchorage Capital, Davidson Kempner and GIC, the Singapore sovereign wealth fund.
In a statement today Eir’s shareholders said they have been approached by a potential investor who may wish to make a significant investment in the company.
