Drop in tourist shoppers for Dublin retailers

Footfall in Dublin city centre’s destination retailers for tourists is in rapid decline, businesses have warned.

The Kilkenny store, based on Nassau Street, has experienced a decrease in footfall in excess of 10 per cent year-on-year, according to its store manager Mary Keane.

Speaking at the Retail Excellence Retreat last week, Keane said rules that prohibit coaches from parking on Nassau Street have stemmed the flow of tourists into Dublin city centre.
