Digicel bondholders resist new debt deadline

Digicel has been weighed down with debt

A second group of bondholders in Denis O’Brien’s Digicel has hired a top American legal firm to advise them on their options as the company attempts to extend the repayment date on some of its borrowings.

They have appointed New York law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy to represent them in negotiations with Digicel over the terms of the proposed bond exchange.
