Debt experts give back licences

Debt experts have pointed to the high costs associated with being a personal insolvency practitioner.

Ten personal insolvency experts who spent thousands of euro becoming authorised to negotiate debt deals have handed back their licences to the state’s insolvency agency.

New figures obtained from the Insolvency Service of Ireland (ISI) show that four personal insolvency practitioners (PIPs) have handed back their licences so far this year. In 2014, six PIPs decided to hand back their licences, the ISI confirmed.
