Davy to grow capital markets division as Byrne takes charge

Davy, the country’s biggest securities firm, is to step up its plans to grow its capital markets division including in Britain after its shock poaching of AIB boss Bernard Byrne.

Davy chief executive Brian McKiernan told this newspaper that Byrne brought experience and an unmatched reputation for the role. Byrne is succeedingKyran McLaughlin, who has been Ireland’s best known company adviser for decades. McKiernan said it was a “once-in-40-years appointment” for Davy.
