Ireland will not change its restrictions on bankers' pay, junior finance minister Michael D'Arcy has signalled, in the clearest sign yet that the rules will remain in place.

“I’m of the view the decision is made,” D’Arcy said in a Bloomberg TV interview in Hong Kong on Monday. “The bankers in those institutions are well paid. The threshold is €500,000 and that’s in the very, very top percentile of anybody earning in Ireland.”
