Dairygold to press ahead with €500m Kerrygold spin-out proposal

Cork firm still hopeful of realising ambitious strategy to create company owned by dairy co-ops and milk farmers

A plan to create a €500 million unlisted company owned by dairy co-operatives and milk farmers is still being pursued after the initiative failed to secure the approval of Kerrygold owner Ornua.

Earlier this year, Cork-based Dairygold raised the prospect that the co-operatives and farmers who supply milk to Ornua would establish a stand-alone company that would allow them to value their stake in the business.
