Is crowdfunding the future for journalism?

The Dublin Inquirer, which has extensively reported on homelessness in the city, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for its latest project

Journalism is in crisis. That is well-documented. The old way of funding journalism through circulation and advertising revenue is dying and the industry is struggling to find a solution. This means that there is less money for quality investigative journalism and it means that click-bait and churnalism is becoming the norm.

Of course, there are still some titles out there fighting to produce the best journalism. One of them is the Dublin Inquirer.
