Cost of film industry tax credits up 125 per cent

Incentive is worth €73.5 million to 12 claimants

The cost of tax credits for the largest players in the film industry increased by more than 125 per cent in the five-year period to 2015, new figures reveal.

The cost of tax breaks for the top 12 claimants was €73.5 million in 2015, the last year before the incentive was restructured. The top 12 claimants in 2011 cost just €25 million.
