William Scanlon is chief executive at Tyndall National Institute, the Cork-based ICT research centre. Established in 2004 under a formal agreement between the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Innovation and University College Cork, Tyndall employs 500 people. Scanlon joined the centre last September.
