Central Bank: Behind closed doors

The doors of the Central Bank will be flung open as the institution comes under Freedom of Information legislation for the first time.

In the coming days, we are going to get an unprecedented glimpse into the inner

workings of one the most powerful institutions in the state. Since the financial crisis

broke, the Central Bank has morphed in its powers, doubling its staff numbers to near on

1,400 with growing responsibilities to police all aspects of the banking sector.
