Former Unilever chief Niall Fitzgerald has said people have become suspicious of business, and business leaders must take responsibility to win back lost trust.

In an address to the Principals Club in Dublin, he said regulation was not the whole answer, and could not be a substitute for individual responsibility. He also said society allows big rewards for successful business people and is entitled to demand better leadership.
