Bord na gCon lends loss-making stadium €250,000

The Irish Greyhound Board (IGB), Bord na gCon, has given a €250,000 interest-free loan to a loss-making greyhound track. The board itself is under pressure to repair its own finances, with long-term debts of €21 million.

But it has confirmed it has given a €250,000 loan to the private company which operates the greyhound stadium in Clonmel in Co Tipperary.

The Irish Greyhound Board said it had given the loan to the Davis Road Greyhound Stadium company for “financial support in the form of a trading facility” in 2013.
