Big matches equal big box office for GAA

Peter McKenna, who runs Croke Park, says the organisation is looking to widen its marketing horizons all the time

The GAA invests €1.5 million in marketing the All-Ireland championships and the National League every year, but ticket sales still come down to something that is out of its control.

“You are not going to beat good fixtures. That is a really strong part of this year’s pattern to date,” said Peter McKenna, stadium director of Croke Park.
