Banks still too slow to admit tracker failings

The latest update on the tracker scandal shows that the numbers affected almost doubled in the space of a few months, long after the investigation began

A decade ago, in a television advertisement for the Financial Regulator, a middle-aged man stood up on a Dublin bus and admitted somewhat sheepishly: “I don’t know what a tracker mortgage is”.

He's not the only one. Banks have been a bit hazy on the detail of the t's and c's of trackers too - and in thousands of cases, those t's and c's have simply been ignored.
