With almost five weeks to go until Christmas Day, retailers and consumers alike are gearing up for a busy few weeks.

A recent report by reward programme provider Webloyalty estimated that Irish shoppers will spend €1.59 billion this Christmas, up nearly 3 per cent on last year. That equates to an average spend of €435 per person.
