Fast-fashion and online sales are leading the demise of conventional shops

Former staff at Clerys carried out a guerrilla protest last weekend on Dublin’s O’Connell Street to mark the first anniversary of the overnight closure of the iconic department store, a controversial corporate coup that put 460 staff out of work overnight. The centrepiece of the protest was the projection of a giant Clerys clock onto the building with the words: “Time for Justice”.
