Fuel retail giant Applegreen has opened fuel plazas on several sites where it previously claimed that rivals’ plans would cause traffic chaos and contravene planning laws.

The company, which has 193 stations in Ireland, has been a persistent objector against rivals’ developments in Ireland, including projects proposed by Supermac’s owner Pat McDonagh, Circle K and independent forecourt developers.
