AIB boss Byrne to step down
AIB has been dealt another blow with chief executive Bernard Byrne announcing his plans to step down as chief executive of the bank.
In a statement this morning AIB said Byrne had informed the board he intended to leave in 2019 to pursue an opportunity elsewhere. His impending exit comes just weeks after AIB’s chief financial officer Mark Bourke also signalled he would be leaving to take up a role elsewhere.
