Workers and business owners alike could have been forgiven for ringing in the new year with muted celebrations as a resurgent virus once again dashed their hopes of getting back to work.
The challenge for government in assisting these businesses now is twofold: to ensure a seamless vaccination programme provides respite not a day later than it ought to; and to better manage the pandemic until that moment arrives.
