We’re hiring: The Business Post is looking for a Head of News
Exciting opportunity to lead news coverage in a dynamic seven-day newsroom
The Business Post Group is a diversified media group with a strong technology, data, digital and experience-driven portfolio of businesses.
The flagship brand of the Business Post sits at the centre of the group and has a 30+ year track record as Ireland’s leading niche business, politics, economics and current affairs national news title.
The company now wishes to recruit a Head of News. The successful candidate will drive news coverage across digital and print, and will play a key part in the brand’s ongoing digital transformation.
Reporting to the editor, the Head of News will:
*Manage and lead a team of journalists
*Plan assign and drive with energy our news coverage across seven days a week
*Edit and revise news stories
*Ensure timely publication across both print and digital platforms
*Work seamlessly with the production department to ensure that content is presented in clear, platform-appropriate formats
*Work in conjunction with the marketing and audience teams to deliver content to the Business Post’s audience across the week.
The successful candidate must:
*Have at least five years experience in a national news organisation;
*Be comfortable with leading and directing a team;
*Have the ability to mentor and develop new talent;
*Have an in-depth knowledge of news across the Business Post’s key areas of coverage including economics, business and politics;
* Have an in-depth understanding of the existing defamation laws.
This is a full time and permanent role based at the Business Post’s offices in Dublin, with some shift and weekend work required. It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced editor who wishes to work with an award-winning team of journalists to drive the company forward.
