Rapid electric vehicle chargers to be installed every 60km on Irish motorways

The government is aiming to encourage electric car sales in an effort to cut the state’s emissions

Rapid electric vehicle chargers are set to be rolled out across the country’s motorway network, according to a new government strategy.

Some €100 million is to be spent on public charging infrastructure over the next three years as part of a new national policy in the area.

Eamon Ryan, the Minister for Transport, said as part of the initiative a “pool” of high-powered electric vehicle chargers on motorways.
