Ryan Love’s debut novel begins with 79-year-old Arthur Edwards inviting his two grown-up children to dinner so he can confess a secret that he has been keeping for most of his adult life. Arthur is gay and has the full support of his wife Madeleine in coming out. While his son Patrick takes the news well, his daughter Elizabeth, a well-known journalist and media personality, is less enamoured.
