1 out of every 12 vehicles on Irish roads is not insured

Campaigners said not enough is being done to discourage uninsured driving

The number of uninsured private vehicles on Irish roads rose for the third year in a row, a new report has found.

The total number of private vehicles driving without insurance reached almost 188,000 in 2022, according to the research from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland (MIBI).
