Former taoiseach Enda Kenny was annoyed when he attended one of the early meetings in Government Buildings with the Irish officials who make up ‘Team Brexit’.

It was a day after the British people had voted to leave the EU in June 2016. There were questions about how it would be possible to avoid a hard border, protect the common travel area and preserve the EU’s single market once Britain left.
