CSO releases latest pay figures.

Official figures show that average weekly pay across the Irish economy rose by 1.2 per cent in the third quarter of this year compared with a year earlier.

Average weekly pay was €701.87, according to the Central Statistics Office. Average hourly pay edged up 0.2 per cent to €21.55.

Small business group ISME has already reacted to the figures by warning against any sort of “giveaway” on public sector pay, saying the differential between public and private...
