US hedge fund ramps up play for ex-Nama debtors

Irish property fund Earlsfort Capital, which is backed by the €4 billion Garrison Investment Group hedge fund in New York, is set to double its investment in the Irish market to around €600 million.

The company has already spent €200 million across eight deals, largely concentrated on refinancing former Nama borrowers who are anxious to escape from the vulture funds who bought their debt from the state’s toxic loan agency.
