Urgent legislation put on ice until after Brexit bill
The bill requiring doctors to tell women about the results of reviews of their cervical smears has been pushed back due to Brexit.
The Patient Safety Bill will make it mandatory for doctors to tell their patients about all serious healthcare incidents.
However, it is one of more than 120 bills that have been delayed due to the urgent need to pass a Brexit ‘mega-bill’ to mitigate the damage caused by a hard Brexit.
