Union advises staff not to talk to Tesco over long-standing row

Tesco faces a renewed threat of industrial action after a row broke out over the pay of its longest serving staff.

The row centres on an ongoing disagreement over changes Tesco wants to the pay and rosters of 290 long-serving staff on contracts signed before 1997.

The changes could see pay reduced by as much as 20 per cent, trade union Mandate has claimed.
