It’s frightening how many of us rely on a small number of heroic people to hold together our tattered health service. We should repay and support them properly

The second year of the Covid-19 pandemic has delivered a variety of challenges to every sector of society. For some, the main challenge has been economic, arising from an inability to continue with their businesses, or for employees having less and less work to do.

But for others, the pandemic itself has represented the greatest challenge, heaviest workload and busiest time of their entire careers.
