Smurfit Kappa publishes its results for the first nine months of the year on Wednesday.
The Irish company’s Italian unit was fined €124 million in August after authorities found 50 paper and packaging groups had engaged in anti-competitive practices.
Tony Smurfit, Smurfit Kappa’s chief executive, said the company would book the fine as an exceptional charge in this year’s results, pending the outcome of an appeal.
