Tánaiste promises free under six GP care in new year

Tánaiste Joan Burton has vowed that free GP care for all children under six will be implemented in the new year. The scheme for 240,000 children was announced over a year ago, but has been delayed by long-running negotiations with GPs.

“I confidently expect that the arrangements with the GPs will be rolled out. They are part of the agreement reached with the Taoiseach after my election as Labour Party leader,” she said....
