The government is being called upon to subsidise the purchase of electric bikes

The government should subsidise the purchase of electric bikes in the same way it supports the roll-out of e-cars, a cycling campaign group has urged.

In its pre-budget submission, Cyclist.ie has also called for the establishment of a National Cycling Office within the Department of Transport and dedicated cycling officers at a senior level in all local authorities. It said that Budget 2020 should allocate 10 per cent of the land transport budget to cycling...
