A year that began with a serial sexual harasser (by his own account) being elevated to the most powerful office in the world ended with a series of powerful men felled by allegations of sexual harassment.

If it is obvious that this nexus of sex and power produced some of the most explosive stories of 2017, it is less obvious quite what that means. The year may appear to have started on an ominous note...
