‘Rockall seems to be weirdly big news in Ireland but no one here cares about it,” one Scottish political commentator said to me last week. While the debate over the 17 metre high slab of granite in the North Atlantic Ocean raged in Ireland, in Scotland, Rockall was certainly not setting the heather alight.
