Volunteers are being forced to apply for Garda vetting multiple times due to excessive red tape.

The Garda vetting system is mandatory this year for all adults working with children, including teachers, nurses, sports coaches, church volunteers and scout leaders.

But people have to apply for Garda vetting clearance in each organisation they are participating in.
