A new 80,000-member ‘super union’ is set to be created tomorrow in the first major merger since the 1980s.

Fórsa - which is the Irish for ‘force’ - will be formed from the amalgamation of three trade unions in an attempt to increase their negotiating power.

The move has already been approved by members of the Civil, Public and Services Union (CPSU) and the Public Service Executive Union (PSEU)....
