Paris attacks mastermind killed in gunfight with French police

The presumed mastermind of the Paris attacks was killed in a shootout, the French prosecutor has said.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 28 had boasted of mounting attacks in Europe and was accused of orchestrating Friday's coordinated bombings and shootings.

Abaaoud's body was formally identified at the Rue de Corbillon in the Paris suburb following clashes at St-Denis early on Wednesday.
