Once-off costs put Ardagh in the red in Q2

Revenue flat but margins improve at Coulson packaging firm

Revenue fell 2 per cent from a year earlier to just under €1.3 billion, though it was unchanged when currency movements were stripped out.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were €256m, up 3 per cent compared with the same period last year as margins improved by almost one point to 20 per cent.

Revenue in the glass packaging business was €800m in the quarter, 2 per cent lower than in the same period last year...
