NTMA sells bonds, but yields creep up

Agency raises €1.25 billion and is well on way to 2017 target

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) has sold €1.25 billion of bonds in an auction this morning, but at a significantly higher cost.

It has now raised €5.25 billion already this year, well on the way towards its 2017 target of €9-13 billion.

The agency sold €600m of five-year bonds at a yield of 0.088 per cent, and €650m of ten-year bonds at a yield of 1.026 per cent. In both cases, the NTMA received...
