Motor insurance data dump is only the start

The NCIP report drew back the curtain of secrecy around the industry, but more information needs to be revealed

Last week’s publication of long-awaited data on the Irish motor insurance market by the Central Bank has provided us with a much more comprehensive understanding of the sector.

The regulator’s first National Claims Information Database (NCID) report lifted the secrecy surrounding the area and has, at last, given policymakers robust findings on which to formulate their response to the insurance crisis.
