McCabe tribunal barristers’ pay cut by €1k a day
Daily fee for a senior counsel will be reduced to €1,500
Tribunal barristers will have to take a €1,000-a-day cut during their investigation into allegations of a smear campaign against Garda whistleblower Sergeant Maurice McCabe.
The daily fee for a senior counsel will be reduced from the €2,500 rate which applied at the Moriarty tribunal, to €1,500. Junior counsel will be paid a daily rate of €1,000, compared to the previous rate of €1,500.
