Marion McKeone on Nashville: Another school shooting, another round of outrage, tears, and then nothing

Assault weapons have become a lethal symbol of the culture wars that have engulfed America, so when the NRA meets next month there will be no reflection on the Nashville school shooting where three children and three adults were killed

The National Rifle Association’s annual conference takes place the weekend after next in Indianapolis, where around 75,000 Second Amendment defenders, cultural warriors and Maga supporters are expected.

Last year’s conference took place in Houston just days after the Uvalde school shooting, where 19 primary school children were massacred while scores of armed police dithered and ducked in the corridors outside.
