The pace of growth in the

manufacturing sector slowed in May to its lowest level in nearly three years as new orders weakened ahead of the UK referendum on EU membership, the latest survey of the sector showed.

The subsector measuring new orders fell to 51.4 from 52.8 in April, its lowest reading since November 2013, Investec said, while new export orders contracted after 34 months of consecutive growth.
