Lowry secures 40 bed patient hotel for hospital in return for supporting coalition

Independent TD Michael Lowry has succeeded in getting a 40-bed patient hotel for his local hospital in return for supporting the government.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has been trying to put distance between himself and Lowry, who was convicted in court of tax offences last week. He has denied that there is any formal agreement in place with Lowry to underpin his support for the minority government.
