The leaders debate was held in University of Limerick last Monday night

The audience for RTE’s Leaders’ Debate last Monday was collectively paid more than €20,000.

The audience members, selected by Red C Research as a representative sample of the electorate, were paid approximately €60 each for their time.

Red C won a tender from RTE to pick the audience and said it interviewed a wide range of people ahead of the debate. There was no open application process.
