King accused Moran of helping to introduce cutbacks that were “unprecedented in the history of the state and caused a lot of suffering”

In an exclusive interview with The Sunday Business Post, the country’s most senior trade union official lashed out at John Moran, saying he had been “a key adviser in proposing and implementing” austerity measures that placed huge demands on families.

Moran, who was secretary general of the department between 2012 and 2014, wrote in this newspaper last week that “vested interests” were highjacking the democratic process, after unions threatened strike ballots...
